Our campaign was designed to show customers that Mac’s are better then Pc’s. In doing this we used a young and attractive man to represent the Mac and an older middle aged not so attractive man to represent the PC. This appeals to customers because appearances today are a big thing and everybody likes something that looks good. Many people base their purchases off of looks alone. Our target audience is for teenagers up to adults in the working world but mostly the younger crowd because they always want what looks and works the best and this is exactly what our product is. This ad would be effective because it shows both a young and attractive appearance and that our actual computer is number 1. It also adds a little humor when the Pc tries to make up something saying they are number 1. This is so obvious that they are making this up that it is funny and customers always like something that makes them laugh.
This ad might not have worked so well because it is not very eye catching. There is nothing going on in the background. All we have is the two guys just standing there. People like to see images and action, which is what this commercial is lacking. To fix this problem we can show images of both computers to show just how much better Mac’s are. We can show them in an exotic place, even though that has nothing to do with our product it is something that viewers enjoy watching. It will be much more appealing to the naked eye. We can also show the viewers all of the things you can do with a Mac. There are many new things that Pc’s do not have. If the audience can see the direct comparison of what these two computers can do then they will be more likely to purchase our product. There is really no comparison between Macs and Pcs and if we can show our viewers that, then we will be very successful.

Advertisements
Verizon Hub
1. The Verizon Hub, is trying to convince you that you can have all the conveniences of a cell phone, home phone, and computer in one device. They’re showing how times are changing and technology is advancing to make things simpler for the consumer.
2. The ad is showing a man drinking orange juice obviously just waking up, and checking vital information for his wife, like traffic and weather. It also shows him sending her a text message telling her the information.
3. There is no real generic form of this product, but it is combing multiple generic electronics. It is telling you that this is the new home phone. The times are changing and this is the future. It is very convenient for customers to have because they can do everything while having breakfast, as the commercial shows.
4. It is aimed more towards the working and business class or families. This is TV commercial not a magazine. Some channels this would be played on would be MTV, ESPN, ABC, and TBS.
Mac vs. PC
1. This advertisement is persuading you to believe that a Mac is better then a PC. It says in the ad that the iMac is the best desktop at any price.
2. It says in the commercial that Macs are number one and the PC makes up a fake headline stating it is superior. The PC is characterized as an middle aged balding man with glass, while the Mac is portrayed as a younger hip guy. By using these two different men it is making the Mac more appealing to users.
3. Consumers can expect faster, more reliable performance out of a Mac than from the generic PCs. Also you would receive the newest and best components out of the box where as a PC you would have to upgrade.
4. The targeted audience could range from teens embarking on college, to businessmen, to just the general public. This ad is also a commercial not in a magazine. Some channels this commercial would be played on stations such as G4, NBC, MTV and ESPN

Topic Proposal #3
I am going to do a modern version of a modest proposal however my topic is going to be about the problem of money in education. We are trying to make so many cuts in schools that it majorly effecting teachers and students as well.
My proposal is that we fire ALL teachers and therefore we can save and use all that money that we would otherwise use to pay them. Instead of having teachers in every class there will be a robot that acts as the teacher. This robot will be programmed with all of the information and curriculum needed for that class. So we would be assured that all of our students will be taught what they need to know in every single class. We could save money on having to print up the curriculum and also save time by having to teach all of the teachers the curriculum. All of the money saved on paying the teachers can be used to help improve our education system.

2 Texts
First Text: Don't Stop Believing by Journey
Just a small town girl
Living in a lonely world
She took the midnight train going anywhere
Just a city boy
Born and raised in South Detroit
He took the midnight train going anywhere
A singer in a smoky room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on
{Refrain}
Strangers, waiting, up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people, living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night
Working hard to get my fill
Everybody wants a thrill
Paying anything to roll the dice
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on
{Refrain}
Don't stop believing
Hold on to that feeling
Streetlight people
Text 2: Joke from Dane Cook in Vicious Circle
It was peace. Peace is when you would shake the hands of the people around you. And you knew peace was coming because the priest would say it five times rapid fire. He'd go, "My peace I leave, my peace I give to you. While we ate Reese's Pieces with the Lord. And I have a piece of lint in my peaceful eye!"

Topic Proposal #2
Question: Are steroids a problem among high school athletes?
By steroids I mean all types of steroids including androdenic, cortico, anabolic and even HGH(human growth hormones).
Source 1: "Good News on Steroids"
- This article is talking about how the use of steroids in high schools is not a high number even though it is still taking place. They are saying either there are fewer students taking steroids or
the testing programs are a deterent. I found this article on Academic Search Premier.
Source 2: "Young Athletes Warned: Injections are serious subjects"
- This article talks about how many young athletes are looking up to their sports heros who are taking steroids so they think they need to take them as well. This paticular article is talking about Roger Clemmons. It talks about how this is a big problem and also how these kids don't know the risk that will come from doing steroids and sharing needles and things like that. I found this on Academic Search Premier.
Source 3: "Use of Preforming Enhancing Drugs is a Problem Among Teens"
- This article is saying how the use of steroids in high school athletics is an increasing problem. It says how the focus in high schools now is to do the best at all possible instead of teaching the values of teammwork, competition and dedication. The focus nowadays is to train for one sport all year round instead of enjoying other sports, putting a lot of stress on these young kids. I got this source from Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center.
Source 4: "Steroids are Dangerous"
- This article talks about how certain steroids are too easy for middle to high school age students to get. Since this is the time where teens are worried about things such as body image and athletic performance they feel like they need to use steroids, however they do not think about any of the side effects that steroids can have on their growing bodies. I found this source on Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center.

Essay 1 Proposal
For my first essay I am going to write about the benefits of laughter that is talked about in the book Laughing Matters. The purpose of this is to let the reader know that there are actual physical benefits from laughter not just feeling good. They have even done studies that show that laughter raised peoples pain thresholds, it causes an endorphin rush and can even cause people to have healthier immune systems. The author hopes to get people to realize this and have laughter become part of their life every single day. The audience for this piece is everybody. It doesn't matter if your young or old, laughter can help to improve everybody's life. The writer seems trustworthy because he gives us stories of actual studies they have done and cases where laughter really has been a good medicine for some people. By seeing it work for other people it makes us trust the author and know that they are not making it up.
